Outgrowing.

You could be living in the same country for years, in your parents’ house, being loved and taken care of very well. You could be working a job, have a degree, and even have the opportunity to go higher and do more in the matrix. You have family around you, cousins that love you, acquaintances, a church you attend and serve in — you have your personal life, is what I’m trying to say, no matter what that may look like.

However, all of a sudden, you start outgrowing everything.

You start outgrowing everyone.

You outgrow the employment you have, the country you’re living in, the hometown you’re in, the family you’re surrounded by the friends you may have .... everything. Yet you are still in the same place and have been for a while… or at least it feels like it. This does not mean that you are not growing internally and externally, you are but you feel like you need to maybe move countries.

My encouragement to you is this: if you are someone who walks with Jesus and all of a sudden, you feel this feeling of, “I’m outgrowing everything and everyone,” that may be a sign that change is around the corner.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding but acknowledge Him in this new change that He placed within you to begin with, and you will start to take new steps of faith.

I believe the reason why you are outgrowing things is because God has placed it in your heart and spirit that it’s time to move on. It’s time for a change. It’s time to move countries, it’s time to travel, it’s time to study something new, it’s time for marriage, it’s time for that new thing .... whatever that may be.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
— Isaiah 43:19

But even in the feeling and understanding that change is around the corner, we must seek the wisdom of God before taking action in faith, understanding that He is the One who will lead us into that change we feel is near.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
— Romans 8:14

Take your frustration, boredom, irritation, and annoyance to God when you feel like you are so over everything and everyone concerning the time and season you have been in.

Sometimes outgrowing everything and everyone does not mean we are ungrateful or greedy for more .... no. It can simply mean that we have served our purpose in that country, with those people, in that school, or in that season, and now it’s time for greater change.

“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1

Because with Jesus, we only go higher.

We just need to lean on His wisdom to lead us into what’s next and not take action without Him, so that we don’t end up in delay, further frustration, or confusion.

That feeling in your heart that says, “I just want something different,” can actually be your hope, anticipation, and revelation ..... something to be excited for concerning what’s to come. That revelation is only a download from the Holy Spirit Himself because it is revealed to you personally. Jesus will reveal what's to come in puzzles before it does.

And if it takes a while, remember the promises God spoke to you. Let those promises centre you in God again rather than leaning on emotions that frustrate us.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come.”
— Habakkuk 2:3

God knows exactly what He’s doing with your life, even in seasons where everything feels uncomfortable, stretched, or unfamiliar.

So, trust Him in the outgrowing.
